Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Aventron Technologies collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Aventron mobile app and related website content.
1. What the app does
The Aventron app helps users connect to compatible Shelly-based solar thermostat hardware, monitor device status and temperatures, manage automation rules, and contact Aventron Technologies for support.
2. Information we process
Depending on how you use the app, the app may process:
- Shelly account authentication tokens and related OAuth server information.
- Thermostat and device information such as device IDs, MAC-style identifiers, cloud device IDs, local IP or LAN labels, and device status.
- Thermostat settings and operational data such as configured target temperature, measured temperature, boiler size, automation schedules, and temperature history stored by the app.
- Support and contact actions you initiate, such as opening email, WhatsApp, Google Maps, or external web pages.
- Basic technical and network information required to communicate with local devices, Shelly cloud endpoints, and infrastructure used by the app.
3. Information stored on your device
The app stores some data locally on your device to keep you signed in and to preserve your setup between sessions. This may include authentication tokens, selected server information, thermostat definitions, automation rules, and locally cached historical usage or temperature data.
Sensitive authentication data is intended to be stored using secure local storage where supported by the platform. Some app preferences and cached operational data may also be stored using standard local app storage.
4. How we use Firebase
The app uses Firebase services for app configuration and device authorization checks. In particular, Aventron may verify whether a device identifier is authorized by querying a Firebase Firestore collection used for authorized device records.
This verification may involve processing hardware identifiers such as a normalized device ID or MAC-style identifier. The app does not include Firebase Analytics in the current project configuration.
5. How we use Shelly services and local network connections
The app communicates with compatible Shelly services and, where available, with supported devices on the local network in order to discover devices, read status data, and execute thermostat control actions.
These communications may involve requests to Shelly cloud endpoints and direct local-network requests to compatible devices.
6. Background automation
If automation is enabled, the app may run periodic background work to evaluate saved automation rules and send control commands to a configured thermostat. This background processing uses locally stored rule and device data and may access Shelly cloud or local device endpoints when needed.
7. Maps, links, and third-party services
The app may display or open services provided by third parties, including:
- Google Maps for directions to Aventron Technologies.
- OpenStreetMap tiles for map display.
- WhatsApp for customer contact.
- Shelly cloud authentication and device APIs.
- Google Firebase services used by the app.
When you use those services, your information may also be processed under the privacy policies and terms of those third parties.
8. Location and permissions
The Android app currently declares internet and network-state permissions. It does not request Android fine or coarse location permission in the current project configuration.
The app may still process local network information and may open external map services. Those third-party services may infer approximate location from IP address or their own inputs.
9. How long data is retained
Data stored locally on your device is generally retained until you log out, clear app data, uninstall the app, or overwrite the stored data through normal app use. Device authorization records maintained by Aventron or its service providers may be retained as long as reasonably necessary for product operation, support, security, and legal compliance.
10. Data sharing
Aventron does not sell your personal information. Information may be shared only as needed to operate the app and its connected services, including with service providers such as Google Firebase, Shelly services, mapping providers, and communication platforms you choose to open from the app.
11. Security
Aventron uses reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed by the app. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
12. Your choices
- You can stop using the app at any time.
- You can remove locally stored data by logging out, clearing app data, or uninstalling the app.
- You can choose not to use optional contact links or third-party services opened from the app.
